Love KW - Food Drive
Tomorrow: Friday, June 3

1) Arrive at Highview between 5pm & 6pm and meet up with Ian and Renee downstairs.

2) If you can bring a vehicle, empty out your trunk so you can collect donated food. If possible, create your own team to go in your vehicle so someone can drive, and others can go door to door.

3) No vehicle - no problem. Renee can match you up with a team and you can still go out on a route.

4) Don't feel up to walking - don't feel left out. We have lots of jobs back at Highview Home Base to help get this food sorted, boxed and weighed.

5) Please bring as many boxes, cloth and plastic bags as possible. If you need your cloth bags back, be sure to label them.

6) We also need to borrow your bathroom scales. Ian will need them Friday night and the big day on Saturday where the freight truck is going to be filled.

7) If you have a wagon, please bring it along to help unload food from cars and bringing them inside.

8) Don't forget to wear your Love KW T-Shirts!

Fill A Freight Truck
Junior & Senior Students

Saturday, June 4th

Churches and youth groups in the Waterloo Region and Wellington Country have
been collecting food for the hungry in our cities. We want to use this food
to Fill A Freight Truck!

This project is part of Epicentre which is a larger initiative to transform
the cities of Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo, and Guelph for Jesus Christ.

Where/When:
. Saturday, June 4th, 2011
. Arrive just before 11am. The Freight Truck will arrive at 11am at
Community Christian Reformed Church (CCRC) on 1275 Bleams Road. The
Kitchener rally will only be an hour.

Next stop is Riverside Park in Guelph. Students will leave from the
CCRC church and head to Guelph Riverside Park at 709 Woolwich Street Guelph
Ontario. Students will spend time at the park until the concert. (Rides are
taken care of for this. the students will carpool with the leaders).

Concert Starts & Ends: The concert is at the Riverside Park. It
starts at 5pm and should end around 8:30-9pm.

Ride Coordination: Parents are free to pick up at the Riverside Park
or arrange something different with those who are driving vehicles. Everyone
is asked to coordinate their ride home with those driving vehicles - James,
Cam, Heidi, and Megan.

Transportation: Students will need to have rides to the CCRC church and get
picked up at the pick up location.

Cost: $5.00 for the Event. The $5 will help pay for the cost of the concert,
their t-shirt, and food at the event. Please also bring $1 or $2 to
contribute to gas money! Bring extra pocket money just in case.

What To Bring: A bagged lunch (All food items are to be peanut free). Extra
pocket money (in addition to the $5 and $2). Sunscreen. Extra clothes (if it
rains, we're still hanging at the park!) Things for the park
(balls/Frisbee/hackey sack). Blankets to sit on. Bottles of water. Smiles.
Your Groove.

Welcome Back Renee!

We are happy to have Renee Peers back from her Maternity Leave. Before going on leave, Renee was the Student Ministries Director here at Highview. But in order to meet the current needs of Highview and allow Renee to continue to use her gifts to servce, she has embraced a new role as Congregational Life Director.

In various ways, Renee will be looking at creating better pathways for people to connect with God and with one another.

KORP KOON, KA!

It's hard to find the right words, in Thai OR in English, to properly express my deep thanks for all who supported my time away in Thailand last month. God used this visit to encourage me in deep, deep places of my soul, mostly through the clear evidence of His loving and significant participation in the lives of our kids. Hot Springs is doing SO WELL! Sponsors - Thank you! The impact you are making is incalculable. Suradet and Yupa are strong, loving, creative and industrious parents, making a life of peace and stability for these children. We are well invested by partnering with them in this joyful responsibility. You will hear more in coming weeks of the vision Suradet and I both have to expand and add more kids to the Hot Springs family. I want to thank the Staff, Front Line Leaders, Elders and all the volunteers who so beautifully carried on the important kingdom work God has for us here at Highview while I was gone...not a surprise given the quality of people who love and serve at Highview. Thanks....Ruth Anne
